Here we are. You can't help but scroll through Facebook and Instagram and see all the first day of school pictures.
I can't believe we are already at this place AGAIN. The "end" of summer. The first day of school for so many kiddos and teachers.
It's that time again. It happens every year, but this year I want more than just school to start. It's August, the eighth month of the year. In the Bible eight represents new beginnings. Could you use a new beginning, a fresh start, a do-over? I know I could!
The great thing about new beginnings is it means that something is coming to an end in order for something new to start.
So what about you? What is coming to an end... or what needs to come to an end in order for you to have a fresh start, a new beginning?
It's the end of summer for so many kiddos, but with it comes the beginning of a school year full of fresh expectancy... hope and wishes for all that the school year can bring. Kids can choose to mourn the end of the summer or jump into the possibilities of new friends, mind blowing science experiments and a fun volleyball season. We too get to choose how we "see" beginnings and endings.
Today, I want you to do four things:
1. Decide what you are putting an end to. Say it outloud, "Yesterday was the last day of......"
2. Don't look back.
3. Declare your new beginning. Write it down and say it outloud, "Today is the first day of........"
4. Determine to do something for your new beginning every day and be open to all the possibilities this new beginning has to offer.
This is what God says in Psalm 43:19:
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?"
Here's to new beginnings,
