7 Scriptures for When Your Cup of Joy is Empty
Joy is the cup of coffee to your daily to-do list.
If you are in the fight for something, if you have lost your joy or you can see how the troubles of this world have zapped this life-giving energy from you, I have come to encourage you with a powerful weapon of choice...JOY!
It will keep you going. It will keep you from giving up. It will keep you strong in the fight. It will be contagious and draw others into the Kingdom. It will make the fight and the journey do-able, memorable, and dare I say it... enjoyable.
So, my friends, here are seven scriptures to fill your cup of joy when it gets empty...
You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
Psalm 16:11
When anxiety was great within me,
Your consolation brought me joy.
Psalm 94:19
A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.
Proverbs 17:22
The Lord has done it this very day;
let us rejoice today and be glad.
Psalm 118:24
To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life—
this is indeed a gift from God.
Ecclesiastes 5:19
Rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
The joy of the Lord is your strength.
Nehemiah 8:10
Joy is a weapon, a stance, a force, a disposition to be used when times are bad, it’s also a reaction, a praise, a shout, a response to give when times are good, and it’s a tool, a practice, a presence and a discipline to acquire to transform the daily mundane. So...it’s for the good, the bad, and the everyday. It’s for the battle, the victory, and the training and preparation.
Friends, I pray that the joy of the Lord would support your faith with strength in this season and you would have all that you need to wake up each day and take the next step.
Cheering you on. Hugs friend.
