Simple Secrets to Share in This Season

The loud buzzing breaks the blessed silence and you slowly slide out of bed, slightly puffy and somewhat groggy, but mostly hopeful that TODAY IS GOING TO BE THE DAY.

Today is going to be the day that you do it.

Today is going to be the day you start.

Today is going to be the day you start doing "the thing."

Now your thing, may be different than my thing... but we all have that thing. The thing that we KNOW we are supposed to be doing, but it is also the thing that so easily gets shoved off our list.

Maybe it seems too big. Maybe it seems too overwhelming. Maybe your time and energy is under assault of a million other things. Maybe your thing is easily replaced with the endless pile of laundry, or running the kids around, or tackling the house chores. (Random not-so-fun fact…) Did you know that statistics show that moms spend over 18 hours a week on household chores… crazy right?!

Maybe because of all the things, you don't know where to start.

I so get it. I've been there and found my God-given goals take a back seat to such things as the chocolate chip cookies calling me from the kitchen and the puppy that needed a mom cuddle.

In the midst of the mess and overwhelm I've found a handful of simple secrets for goal-getting that have helped me and my peeps crush our goals, one-by-one. I want to share the big two with you today:

#1 Know exactly what you need to do in this season!

There are so many opportunities and possibilities. Not to mention a long list of should-do's from every coach, friend and resource you come in contact with. But at the end of the day there is a divine assignment for you in this season... a short list of what matters most for you to accomplish and the only way we can know for sure what that is, is by spending time with our Creator, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

#2 Do it!

This isn't rocket science, right?! It almost sounds too simple, but soooo many don't actually do the thing (go ahead, you can insert all the reasons you've heard and experienced here). But as you begin to know what to do, the most simple and powerful thing you can do with that knowledge is to just do it. You may not know the full A-Z, but when you do what you know to do with the resources you have, you will find out more about what to do and not-do next. Clarity comes with action.

"In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, 'You have faith; I have deeds.' Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do." - James 2:17-18

Friend, faith without action is dead... and God has put so much in you to share His love, heart and message with the people of the world right where you are in this season.

And I'm cheering you on each step and small win of the way!
